Pine forests
If you travel by road from Nha Trang and Phan Rang to Da Lat, after crossing over the Ngoan Muc Pass, or if you start from Ho Chi Minh City, after you pass the Finom junction, you will be amazed at the abundant pine forests.
Can Gio - a biosphere reserve of the world
Location: The ecological forest of Can Gio is situated 50km away from downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Characteristic: With an area of over 70,000 ha, of which 35,000 ha is salt-watered forest, Can Gio has been recognized as a biosphere reserve of the world by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Lac Village in Mai Chau Valley
Location: In Hoa Binh Province, approximately 135km from Hanoi and 60km from Hoa Binh Town. Characteristics: From the top of Cun Pass, one can admire the superb panorama of Mai Chau surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses. Many minorities, including the Thai ethnic group, live in Lac Village.
Lang Biang mountain
Lang Bian Mountains is located in Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province; 12km north of center Dalat. Lang Bian Mountains are an ideal place for mountain climbing, paragliding, trekking or studying flora and rare bird species.
Yen Tu Tourist Site
Location: The area of Yen Tu belongs to the village of Thuong Yen Cong Commune, Uong Bi Town. It is about 40km from Halong City and 14km from center of Uong Bi Town. Characteristics: It consist of a system of pagodas, shrines, towers and forests.
Huong Son Tourist Area
Location: In My Duc District, Ha Tay Province, approximately 70km from Hanoi City. Characteristics: Huong Son Tourist Area covers an area of a thousand hectares and includes a complex of mountains, rivers and streams, villages, pagodas, and grottoes surrounded by the Huong Tich Mountain Range, north of the Truong Son Range.
Cuc Phuong National Park
Location: Cuc Phuong National Park is located 100km south of Hanoi in Ninh Binh and it is on the borders of three provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa. Characteristics: Cuc Phuong National Park is surrounded by several limestone cliffs, the highest being May Bac, meaning "silver cloud," with a height of 656m.
Ngu Binh Mountain
Location: Ngu Binh Mountain is located in Hue City. Characteristics: Ngu Binh Mountain was called Bang Son (Even Mount) and renamed Ngu Binh by Emperor Gia Long. It was chosen as a screen in front of the Hue Capital City.
Cat Tien National Park
Location: Cat Tien National Park is located in three provinces of Dong Nai, Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc. Characteristics: Cat Tien National Park has a diversified topography with hills along the banks, plains and sloping flows.
Fansipan Mountain Peak
Fansipan, a rough pronunciation of the local name "Hua Xi Pan" means "the tottery giant rock". The French came to Vietnam and in 1905 planted a landmark telling Fansipan's height of 3,143m and branded it "the Roof of Indochina". Very few people climbed to the top of Fansipan at the time. Then came the long years of war and Fansipan was left deserted for hunting and savaging. The trail blazed by the French was quickly overgrown by the underbrush.
